We saw Dr. Bertz’ name on a charity van in Florida. We thought it must be someone else until we looked up the website and there she was our beautiful Dr. Bertz. It is with great pain that we write this recognizing that our dear doctor Bertz has died. She was the kindest and most giving doctor you could pray for. We were all down with the flu and so sick I couldn’t take care of the children. What a surprise when she showed up at our door with medicine and reassurance. A doctor making a house call????? She said we were very ill and put my father in the hospital and organized some assistance for me and the children. She told me the house call was our little secret, so I never told anyone. Martha was the best person and then Doctor. I hated to leave her care but when my husband stated a new job Midstate in Yalesville did not take the new medical insurance. I pleaded with them for months but sadly, I needed to change to a new Doctor which has NEVER replaced Dr. Bertz. Her referrals have always been "right on" and the best. I sent her Xmas cards and correspondence for years, but we lost touch when she had her first bout of cancer. She was ALWAYS caring, spent time, and loved to "dress". He asked us who his doctor was, and I told him she was Dr. Bertz. JD DeMatteo we never met but Doctor Bertz spoke of you often. We are sooooo sorry that Doctor passed away. It may make it easier if you knew that we owe our child’s life to her medical skill and dogged persistence. Please know that doctor is remembered by many that owe her the most. May peace and harmony fill you heart in the coming year.

I only knew Dr. Bertz for the past two years and she was the greatest doctor. Every month when I had my appointments with her, we both shared and supported each other’s health battles. Dr. Bertz will always be in my heart and memory. Love, Sandy

We lost a true lady, Martha, she was a loving, caring doctor. I will forever be grateful for everything she has taught me. I had the pleasure of working with her for many years. My love and prayers go out to her family. The Good Lord is embracing her now.

I am so so so sad to hear that Dr. Bertz passed away. We owe her a lot and my husband owes her his LIFE. Two doctors before we found Dr Bertz and she knew what he had right away. She had us in the hospital that day and thank God for her. Best sense of humor, great doctor and very classy dresser.
Our sincere condolences to her partner Mr JD who she loved and loved to talk about and her family and friends. She was the doctor for our whole family. Three generations. This is a big loss for this community. I miss you so much and will never find another doctor that cares like you. God bless you forever and I love you.

I am so sad to hear of the passing of Dr. Bertz. She was a wonderful doctor, so caring and kind. We always had a good laugh together and she always had a hug for me at the end of my visit. I will miss you.

I am deeply saddened at the passing of my GP of so many years at the Yalesville. I remember her singing at the Tavern by the Falls many years ago.
She was truly a classy lady, who will be missed greatly.

Martha was more than our Dr. she was someone we called a friend during the years that she was our Dr. I knew that everything was ok. She will be very much missed by me. Martha was an amazing woman. God must need a strong woman by his side because that’s how she was. God tested her during her journey while she was here because she went to hell and back many times and never said uncle. Oh, I am so shocked and saddened to hear that we all have lost our dear Dr. Bertz. She has taken care of many of my family through the years at her office.

She was an absolutely beautiful lady with the singing voice of an angel. She was kind, caring, and listened carefully~
